Abstract
Marry and Have Children Case Study on Japanese Women in Tokyo and Kyoto
Prefectures. The background of this research is to see how the phenomenon of not
wanting to get married and have children among Japanese women. This research
uses qualitative research methods with primary data collection techniques such as:
observation, in-depth interviews, secondary data, books, journals and relevant
social media news. The results of this study show that the ideology of Japanese
women highly upholds economic stability, does not want to live in a patriarchal
system, freedom to have a life partner, and the ideology that is developing among
young people today. Although the Japanese government has made a policy to
increase the desire to marry for Japanese people in increasing the population, it
has not made it accepted in some circles of some Japanese people, especially
women.
Discuss: This study expects further discussion from future researchers on how the
marriage rate in Japan is declining.
