The mangrove forest ecosystem is one of the natural resources in coastal areas which has an important role because it has a very essential function in waters with a dynamic, complex and unstable nature because it is easily damaged and difficult to recover. The mangrove forest area of Selotong Village is included in the Karang Gading and Northeast Langkat Wildlife Reserve areas with an area of ± 9,520 ha. This forest area has the potential to experience pressure due to community activities such as irresponsible use of wood resulting in the conversion of mangrove land into residential areas, ponds and oil palm plantations. This can affect the level of waste density entering the mangrove ecosystem area of Selotong Village, where there is still a lack of public awareness regarding this matter. This research was carried out in July 2023 using the quadrant line transect method which was divided into three research stations and each station consisted of 9 plots. The research results show that the relationship between mangrove density and inorganic waste density has a low positive value when seen from the correlation coefficient r value of 0.34742.
