Research on the food habits of japanase threadfine bream
(Nemipterus japonicus) at the TPI Gabion Belawan, North Suma tera Province,
which was carried out in Oktober–Desember 2023. The number of japanase
threadfine bream samples in this study were 112 individuals. The total length of the
observed fish between 13 –287 mm. The growth pattern of japanase threadfine
bream is negative allometric where length growth is more dominant than weight
gain. Condition factor values ranged from 0,568 to 1,999 with an averange of 1,017
so that the fish were classified as less flat, the sex ratio of the fish was in an balanced
condition, the level of gonad maturity was at TKG I – TKG IV. The relative gut
length of japanase threadfine bream is 0,76 so that the fish is classified as an
carnivore fish, index of stomatch content ranges from 0,92 to 2,21. The main food
for japanase threadfine bream is Crustacea, complementary food is Zooplankton,
Fish, Gastropoda, Cephalopoda, Asteroidae and Polychaeta, additional food is
Fitoplankton.
