The Influence of Regional Expenditure, Investment, Unemployment and Poverty Levels on Economic Growth in Regencies/Municipalities of The Province of North Sumatera
Abstract
The aim of this study was to examine the effect of regional expenditure, investment, unemployment, and poverty level on the economic growth of the districs/cities of North Sumatera Province. The type of data that used in this study is secondary data obtained from BPS ‘s publications with data range for 5 years from 2016 to 2020. The object of this research is 33 districts/cities in North Sumatera Province. The analytical method used is panel data analysis with Fixed Effect Model (FEM) analysis model, the data is processed by using EViews program. The results showed that partially the regional expenditure variable had a positive and significant effect on economic growth, the investment variable had a positive and insignificant effect on economic growth, the unemployment variable had a negative and insignificant impact on economic growth, and the poverty level had a negative and insignificant impact on the economic growth of districts/cities in North Sumatera Province. Simultaneously, the variables of regional expenditure, investment, unemployment, and poverty level have significant effect on the economic growth of districts/cities of North Sumatra Province.
