dc.description.abstract | A Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)-based Traffic Light Control Panel has been successfully designed as a Learning Media. The purpose of designing a tool to design a traffic light control panel using an Omron CP1E PLC and a 24 VDC power supply that can be used as a learning medium at an educational institution, in order to facilitate educators in explaining theory and practicing PLC components, as well as getting to know the CX-Programer software used to program the Omron CP1E PLC. The methods used in this research include control panel design, PLC programming and component testing. This control panel uses an Omron CP1E PLC, 24 VDC Power Supply, Pilot lamp assembled to resemble a Traffic Light, Push Button NO / NC and 1 phase 4 Ampere MCB. The PLC is programmed using CX-Programer Software with ladder diagrams to control other components. Because as a learning media, the working principle is not complicated, when Push Button NO is pressed, the Pilot Lamp which has been assembled into a Traffic light will light up alternately according to the timer given when programming the PLC. And if the NC Push Button is pressed, the system will turn off completely. The program used includes several things, namely, determining the order of the traffic light that lights up and the duration of each traffic light. In the program used, the order of the traffic light lights starts from the green pilot lamp at intersection 1, the red pilot lamp at intersections 2, 3 and 4 and so on continues repeatedly alternating pilot lamp life. The duration set in the program is for 10 seconds covering all pilot lights. The result of this research is a traffic light control panel that can operate automatically according to the program that has been set, and can be used as a tool in the learning process. | en_US |
