In Indonesia, agriculture plays an important role in meeting the basic
needs of the community. However, the grain drying process is still done manually
in the traditional way, such as drying in the sun. The use of a grain dryer that can
regulate temperature and humidity automatically is a solution to overcome
problems in the post-harvest drying process. The use of Arduino Uno R3
microcontroller and DHT22 humidity sensor can help the efficiency of rice
drying. Drying grain with conventional methods under direct sunlight is less
effective because it takes a long time and a large area. The use of a greenhouse
effect-based dryer with the addition of black alor stone is a more efficient
alternative. The grain drying process is divided into natural and artificial drying,
where drying with solar energy can be optimized with the use of alternative
energy. The Arduino microcontroller allows the manufacture of fluidized bed
dryers that are more affordable and can increase the effectiveness of rice drying
in Indonesia.
