dc.description.abstractThe rapid development of information technology has enabled the integration of various devices through the concept of the Internet of Things (IoT). In laboratory environments, which often use hazardous materials and electrical equipment, the risk of fire is always present and requires reliable monitoring systems. This study aims to design and create a prototype IoT-based fire detection device to enhance Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) in laboratories. The prototype uses three main sensors: a flame sensor, an MQ-7 smoke sensor, and a DHT11 temperature sensor. The flame sensor detects the presence of fire, the MQ-7 smoke sensor detects the presence of smoke, and the DHT11 temperature sensor measures temperature changes in the laboratory. Data from these sensors are sent in real-time to the Blynk platform via a NodeMCU connected to a Wi-Fi network, allowing for remote monitoring. Additionally, the GSM800L V2 module is used to send notifications through phone calls if a fire is detected. The system is also equipped with a buzzer/alarm for local alerts. The results of the study indicate that the prototype effectively detects fires and provides real-time notifications to users. The implementation of this system is expected to reduce fire risks in laboratories and improve workplace safety.en_US
