| dc.description.abstract | This research discusses the meaning of people's names and the types of meanings of people's names in the Malay community of Sungai Kuruk II Village, Seruway District. The aim of the research is to explain the meaning of names and types of meanings of Malay names in Sungai Kuruk II Village, Seruway District. The data in this research are the names of Malay people obtained from population data in Sungai Kuruk II Village, Seruway District, there are 60 Malay heads of families with 160 people's names stated as data. The method used is a qualitative descriptive method which describes the description descriptively. The results of the analysis found the meaning of people's names totaling 160 people's names and found types of meanings of people's names, namely (a) names meaning good qualities totaling 82 data, (b) names meaning beautiful totaling 24 data, (c) names meaning congratulations totaling 3 data, (d ) meaningful names from character names totaling 16 data, (e) meaningful names based on birth order totaling 2 data, (f) meaningful names based on time of birth totaling 21 data, (g) meaningful names indicating gender totaling 12 data. | en_US |
