The Role of Teacher Efficacy on Stress in Junior High School Teachers at SMP X Medan
Abstract
This study aims to determine the role of teacher efficacy on stress in junior high
school teachers at SMP X Medan Based on preliminary study, it is known that
some teachers are stressed because of class condition and work overload ,
however some teachers report that they are not stressed or pressured when
teaching students . One of the variables that correlates with s tress is teacher
efficacy. Teacher efficacy is teachers’ belief of themselves that they can teach well
in class . This study involved 30 junior high school teachers in SMP X Medan
using a sampling method which is called total sampling The scale used in thi s
study are teacher efficacy scale and stress scale that are personally constructed by
the researcher . The analysis resulted a p value of 0.001 (p < 0.05). This means
that there is teacher efficacy role on stress in junior high school teachers at SMP
X Medan.
