dc.description.abstract | Straw is one of the rice wastes that can be utilized. One solution to overcome the problem of disposing of rice straw and reducing pollution caused by burning straw in the open is to use rice straw. The purpose of this study is to test rice straw choppers with variations in the number of blades, namely 1 blade, 2 blades, 3 blades and the age of the straw, namely 1 week, 2 weeks and 3 weeks. The research parameters are the effective capacity of the tool, fuel consumption, percentage of chopped materials, percentage of materials left behind in the tool and percentage of lost materials, then statistical tests are carried out using factorial RAL. The optimal results were obtained in the P3U1 treatment, namely 3 blades with 1 week of straw age with an effective capacity of 8.64 kg/hour, fuel consumption of 1.20 l/hour, percentage of chopped material of 86.60%, The percentage of materials left behind in the tool was 8.43%, the percentage of missing materials was 4.96%. The principal cost is Rp. 10,886.77/kg for the first year to the fifth year. The break-even point (BEP) value on the tool is Rp.16,802.11 kg/year. The Net Present Value (NPV) of 5% is IDR 153,630,717.26/year, the NPV of 6% is IDR 149,248,639.45/year and the Internal Rate of Return (IRR) is 41.05%. | en_US |
