dc.description.abstract | The research was conducted at a manufacturing company engaged in the production of furniture, including door frames, tables, door leaves, and long chairs.
A common problem found in the company is the company's non-optimality in
completing production targets. This target completion is caused by the inefficiency of the production trajectory caused by irregular workstation layout, cross movement flow, by-passing, and backtracking. Based on this problem, improvements were made to the company's production floor layout using artificial bee colony and
differential evolution algorithms. By comparing the total distance, total moments of
movement and material handling costs on the actual layout and the proposed layout
of the two methods, the best layout design is the alternative proposed layout 1 with the differential evolution method which results in a total distance of 112.8 meters, a
total moment of material movement of 19,634 meters / month and material handling
costs of Rp1,447,546 per month and a line efficiency rate value of 85.47%. The resulting selected layout design is also able to increase the average production yield
