dc.description.abstractThe ability to speak English among Japanese society is an important topic in the current era of globalization. This writing aims to identify the level of English language skills of the Japanese people, analyze the influencing factors, and examine efforts to improve English language skills. The research method used is literature review and secondary data analysis. The research results show that the Japanese people's English language skills are still below international standards. Factors such as teaching methods, exposure to English, and motivation to learn influence English proficiency in Japan. Improvement efforts include improving the quality of teaching, using technology in learning, and promoting the use of English in everyday life. It is hoped that this writing will provide useful recommendations for improving English language skills in Japan.en_US
