Abstract

This research is to analyse the act of illocution speech act in the comment column of BBC News Arabic's YOUTUBE about the Qatar World Cup. This research aims to find illocution speech act in it’s. This research used theory of the illocution speech act was proposed by Searle and Yule. This research is literature researchers and uses the method of listening and note-taking technique. The results of the research showed that 30 illocution speech acts cases were obtained: 1) Assertives were found 14 speeches; 9 speeches information, 2 speeches statement, 1 speech to demand, 1 speech of proud, and 1 speech sluggish. 2) 1 speech directive, is affirmation. 3) Commissive was found of 7 speeches; 6 speeches of prayer, and 1 speech of vows. 4) Expressive of 5 speeches: 1of thanks, and 4 praise speeches.
