Komunitas Nekton dan Kaitannya dengan Siklus Pasang Surut di Estuari Belawan Kota Medan Provinsi Sumatera Utara
Nekton Community and Its Relationship with the Tidal Cycle at Estuary Belawan, Medan City, North Sumatra Province
Abstract
Nekton communities are a collection of different types of organisms and population sizes that can live in both freshwater and seawater and swim actively without being affected by water currents. This community is used to find out more about the abundance and diversity of nectons. In their life cycle, nektons are particularly susceptible to changes in the aquatic environment because they show patterns that are highly adaptive to the physical and chemical environment and their relationship with the tides of seawater. The concept of community can be applied to analyze the aquatic environment, determine the abundance and diversity of nectons, and determine the relationship between nekton and tidal events. This study aims to determine the distribution and distribution of nekton scattered in the waters of the Belawan estuary, the community structure and what types of nekton are found in the waters of the Belawan estuary, and the relationship of tides to the structure of the nekton community in the waters of the Belawan estuary. This research was carried out at 8 different stations with a purposive sampling method. The results of the study showed that the nekton obtained was 38444 individuals with 54 different species. The distribution of nekton in Estuary Belawan is not evenly distributed.
