Design and Build IoT-Based Landslide Detection Device
Abstract
Landslides are natural disasters that often cause huge losses in terms of both material and human life. Therefore, the development of an early detection system to monitor changes in slopes to anticipate potential landslides is very important. This research aims to design and implement an IoT (Internet of Things) based landslide detection tool using MPU6050 sensor and ESP8266 as a wifi module for data processing, then connected to telegram in the form of a warning notification on landslides. This research can contribute to improving early warning systems and risk mitigation against landslides. The implementation of this IoT-based landslide detection tool can help in monitoring slope conditions effectively and efficiently, so that preventive or evacuation measures can be taken on time to reduce the negative impact of landslides. The result of the research is in the form of notification on telegram in warning when the slope <18 is declared safe, when the slope >18 - <27 is declared alert, and if >27 then it is declared dangerous. Using IoT (Internet of Things) technology in landslide detection has great potential to provide significant benefits in landslide disaster risk.
