The Role of The Secretary in Improving Work Effectiveness at The Office of The Large Vocational Training and Productivity Center in Medan
Abstract
This research was conducted at the Medan Vocational and Productivity Training Centre office using descriptive qualitative research methods and data collection using interview, observation, and documentation techniques. The purpose of this study was to determine how much the role of the secretary in improving work effectiveness at the Medan Vocational and Productivity Training Centre office. In general, the secretary has the task of assisting the leadership in the field of administration and staffing. At BBPVP Medan itself as a whole, the secretary has the task of managing the schedule of activities of the leadership and the company, managing correspondence management and also preparing the company's activity programme plan. The results obtained from this study are that the effectiveness of the secretary at BBPVP Medan has not increased due to experiencing obstacles related to the number of incoming activities but the Human Resources in the company are not sufficient. The secretary's very large role in the company greatly influences the effectiveness of his work, moreover all existing activities must be handled directly by the secretary, therefore in carrying out his duties the secretary of BBPVP Medan always tries to be good in order to motivate employees so that they can jointly unite the vision and mission of the company and obtain the success to be achieved.
