dc.description.abstract | This research aims to develop a simple viscosity tool that can measure oil viscosity using an Arduino Uno based magnetic sensor. This tool utilizes the principle of changing magnetic fields produced by flowing fluids to estimate oil viscosity. At the development stage, magnetic sensors were installed around the pipes where the oil flows. The magnetic field produced by flowing oil will affect the sensor Output. By utilizing the relationship between the magnetic field and fluid viscosity, the algorithm programmed in the Arduino Uno is able to convert sensor data into oil viscosity values. The calibration method is carried out using oil of known viscosity, where sensor data is recorded and its relationship to viscosity is established. Trials were carried out using various types of oil with different viscosities to validate the accuracy of the tool. The research results show that this viscosity tool is able to provide a good estimate of oil viscosity, with a sufficient level of accuracy for general applications.
