dc.description.abstractThis study aims to examine how the electronic information resources are used by agricultural students at the North Sumatra University library. The research employs the descriptive approach with a quantitative methodology. The research population consists of the Agricultural students at North Sumatra University. A sample of 87 people is determined using the Slovin formula based on the number of visitors of university library and the Faculty of Agriculture branch library, with a total of 697 visitors. The research sampling is conducted randomly (accidental sampling) on only those using electronic information resources. The results show that according to the learnability, students have had an understanding on electronic information resources and that their purpose of using electronic information resources is for supporting the learning activities. According to efficiency, the use of electronic information resources is fulfilled and done according to needs. Based on the memorability, the library icon or menu design is consistent. According to the low error rate, the electronic information resources at the library are up to date. Based on the user-friendly aspect, the most dominant information resources used by students include e-books and e-journals. Meanwhile, based on whether it is comfortable to search for information, the challenge most experienced by students in the slow loading. According to the relevancy, students often find success with the OPAC system’s assistance in information search. Based on the user analysis and easiness, the library has been designed to meet various needs of visitors and has a good satisfaction level among both new users and experts. Moreover, students have 57% satisfaction level when using electronic information resources in the library. The research conclusion suggests that participants have effectively used the electronic information resources to meet their academic requirements and reach the desired satisfaction level.en_US
