Analisis Karakter Fisiologi Tanaman Porang (Amarphopallus oncophyllus Prain.) terhadap Aplikasi Nano Kitosan pada Cekaman Kekeringan
Analysis of the Physiological Characteristics of Elephant Foot Yam (Amarphopallus oncophyllus Prain.) on the application of Nano Chitosan in Drough Stress
Abstract
Porang is a tuber plant that has potential as an alternative food ingredient and experiences an increase in exports every year. The growth habitat for porang must be in high humidity, but land in Indonesia is currently dominated by dry land. A strategy to minimize the impact of drought stress on porang is by administering nanochitosan. This research aims to analyze the physiological characteristics of porang regarding the application of nanochitosan during drought stress This research was carried out at the Plant Biotechnology Laboratory and Disease Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra from November 2023 to January 2024, using a Randomized Compelete Block Design with 2 treatment factors. The first factor is providing water based on field capacity which consists of 3 levels, namely providing water at 80% of field capacity, providing water at 60% of field capacity and providing water at 40% of field capacity. The second factor is the administration of nanochitosan which consists of 4 levels, namely without nanochitosan, a nanochitosan dose of 45 ppm, a nanochitosan dose of 90 ppm and a nanochitosan dose of 135 ppm. The results of the research show that providing water based on field capacity has a significant effect on the H2O2 parameter. The administration of nanochitosan has a significant effect on the H2O2 parameters. The interaction of the two treatments had a significant effect on increasing chlorophyll a, b and total.
