dc.description.abstract | Soybeans are a legume crop which is a national mainstay because it is a
source of vegetable protein which is very important in improving people's
nutrition because it is safe for health and cheap in price. Demand for soybeans
continues to increase every year. To increase production, it is necessary to use
superior varieties. Apart from that, soybean production can also be increased by
arranging planting space through a combination of plant spacing treatments. The
research was carried out on Jl. Becek, Sidirejo Village, Namorambe District, Deli
Serdang Regency, North Sumatra. At an altitude of around 60 meters above sea
level, it was carried out from November 2023 to February 2024. This research
used a Randomized Block Design with two treatment factors, namely three
soybean varieties consisting of the Dering-2, Denasa-1, and Devon- 1. The second
factor is various planting distances, among others: early maturity planting
distance 40 x 10 cm, medium maturity planting distance 40 x 15 cm, medium
maturity planting distance 40 x 20 cm and deep maturity planting distance 40 x 25
cm. The results of the analysis showed that varieties had a significant effect on
plant height, stem diameter, flowering age, number of primary branches, number
of productive branches, harvest time, number of filled pods, percentage of empty
pods, weight of 100 seeds, weight of seeds per plot and harvest index. The plant
spacing treatment had a significant effect on the parameters of plant height,
flowering age, number of primary branches, number of productive branches,
harvest age, seed weight per sample, number of filled pods, percentage of empty
pods, seed weight per plot, and harvest index, interaction between variety and
Plant spacing has a significant effect on the parameters of the number of filled
pods per sample and the percentage of empty pods. | en_US |
