Sorghum is a cereal plant that is useful as a source of food and feed and is able to compete with rice and corn. One of the cultivation techniques that needs to be studied in developing sorghum is the ratoon system which makes production costs lower. Inorganic fertilizers can provide nutrients directly to plants but have an unfavorable impact on the environment and are also expensive, so organic coffee skin compost fertilizer is an alternative that can be used to overcome this problem. This research aims to determine the effect of giving various doses of coffee husk waste and NPK 16:16:16 fertilizer on the growth and production of sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L.) bioguma I variety on ratun I. The research was carried out at Jalan Harmonika Baru, Padang Bulan Selayang II, Medan Selayang District, Medan, with an altitude of ± 25 meters above sea level, starting from June-October 2023. This research used a Randomized Complete Block Design with 2 factors. The first factor is the dose of coffee skin compost with 4 levels, namely: Control, 3.5 kg/plot, 7 kg/plot, and 10.5 kg/plot. The second factor is the dose of NPK Mutiara 16-16-16 fertilizer with 2 levels, namely: Control and 20 g/planting hole. The results of the research showed that the application of coffee husk compost had a significant effect on the wet and dry stover weight of sorghum plants in ratun 1 with the treatment at a dose of 7 kg/plot. The application of NPK Mutiara 16-16-16 had a significant effect on stem diameter, flowering age, wet and dry stover weights and wet root and dry root weights with the treatment being at a dose of 20g/planting hole. The interaction of providing coffee husk compost and NPK Mutiara 16-16-16 fertilizer had no significant effect on all observed parameters.en_US
