dc.description.abstract | The physical and mechanical properties of Jabon wood have low values. To increase the strength quality of Jabon wood, it can be made into laminated wood with belangke bamboo coating. Apart from that, to increase the strength of Jabon wood, chemical modification can be carried out with polystyrene impregnation. The aim of this research is to analyze the physical and mechanical properties of Jabon wood and belangke bamboo laminated boards modified by polystyrene and also to find out which layer results get the optimum value. All laminate boards are impregnated with polystyrene. Next, make a laminate board measuring 30 cm (length) x 15 cm (width) x 1.5 cm (thickness). Three types of lamination are made, including, Jabon-Jabon-Jabon; Belangke Bamboo-Jabon-Belangke Bamboo; Belangke Bamboo-Belangke Bamboo-Belangke Bamboo. The laminate boards that have been made are tested for physical and mechanical properties, namely water content, density, weight gain, delamination, bending strength, fracture strength and shear strength. The results obtained from testing the physical properties of this research include, for the average in the WPG test 8.18-30.84%, then for density with an average of 0.41-0.81 g/cm3, the water content ranges from 7.60-8.58%. and 0% delamination. The mechanical properties test results show that the average value of the bending strength test (MOE) is 60074.60-157110.59kg/cm2, fracture strength (MOR) is 640.75-1357.40 kg/cm2, and shear strength is 24.29-44.99 kg/cm2. The physical and mechanical properties of laminated boards with bamboo-bamboo-bamboo laminate composition produce optimum physical and mechanical properties based on the scoring of laminated boards with a score of 14. | en_US |
