Pola Distribusi dan Keanekaragaman Rotan di Kawasan Hutan dengan Tujuan Khusus (KHDTK) Pondok Buluh Kecamatan Dolok Panribuan Simalungun

Abstract

Indonesia is a country with a tropical climate and is known as a country of megabiodiversity. This is proved by the high biodiversity in Indonesia, one of which is the rotan. For this, rotan as one of the species of flora needs to be developed in order to improve the conservation, utilization, and conservation of its genetic resources. The research was conducted in the Forests for Special Purposes Area of Pondok Buluh, Simalungun from September 2023 to March 2024. The research was conducted to analyze the diversity of rotan, patterns of distribution and potential rotan that exists in the Pondok Buluh Forest Area, Simalungun. The sampling intensity used in the study is 0.5%, so the area of observation in this study is 6 hectares. For the size of the transec used in this research is 20 m x 100 m as much as 60 transec with a sub-space of 10 m x 10 m. The observation results refer to the type of rotan present in the KHDTK Pondok Buluh as many as 7 species, namely Calamus javensis, Clamus melanoloma Mart, Clemus diehorspentii Miq, Calmus manan Miquel, Daemonorops draco, Daimonorops angustifolia Martolia, and Plectocomia elongata. Of the seven species obtained in this study, five species have a grouping distribution pattern and two species with a uniform distribution.
