Estimasi Kandungan Biomassa dan Cadangan Karbon pada Hutang Mangrove di Desa Sei Nagalawan Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai
Estimation of Biomass and Carbon Stock in Mangrove Forests in Sei Nagalawan, Serdang Bedagai
Abstract
Global warming is very influential in changing the earth's climate which affects all lines of living creatures. The increase in the concentration of greenhouse gases in the earth's atmosphere is caused by global warming or an increase in the earth's surface temperature. Forests in Indonesia are one that has an important role in maintaining the world's environmental ecosystem. Mangrove forests currently have a large and very important role as carbon absorbers and stores five times greater than terestrial tropical forests. This research was carried out by analyzing tree stands, soil and dead wood in the mangrove forest in Sei Nagalawan Village, Serdang Bedagai Regency. North Sumatera, Indonesia. The total number of individuals found in the natural mangrove forest area of Sei Nagalawan Village was 849 individuals/ha. The total biomass content in the mangrove forest area of Sei Nagalawan Village was 445.33 Mg/ha. The amount of carbon above the soil surface was 182.89 Mg/ha, the amount of carbon below the soil surface was 39.69 Mg/ha, the amount of soil carbon was 701.44 Mg/ha, and the amount of dead wood carbon was 51.85 Mg/ha. So the total natural mangrove forest carbon stock obtained in Sei Nagalawan Village, Serdang Bedagai Regency are 975.96 Mg/ha.
