Peran Serta Kelompok Tani Hutan Penghijauan Maju Bersama dalam Pelestarian Mangrove di Desa Pasar Rawa, Kabupaten Langkat

Abstract

Mangrove forest ecosystems are highly vulnerable to damage and are extremely fragile. Direct impacts, such as illegal logging and indirect impacts such as water pollution due to erosion, oil pollution and changes in water salinity are the causes of damage. There was a 76% reduction in mangrove area in Gebang District from 1989-2019 caused by mangrove logging activities used for daily needs such as firewood and charcoal raw materials. The severity of mangrove damage gave birth to fighters who wanted to improve the mangrove ecosystem, namely the Maju Bersama Forest Farmer Group. The existence of the Kelompok Tani Maju Bersama has helped preserve mangroves in Pasar Rawa Village. The purpose of this study was to analyze the role of the Kelompok Tani Hutan Penghijauan Maju Bersama in preserving mangroves in Pasar Rawa Village, Gebang District, Langkat Regency and to determine the factors that influence mangrove preservation. This research was conducted in September-December 2023 in Pasar Rawa Village. The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive method and multiple linear regression analysis, in the form of data analysis by describing or describing the data that has been obtained. The results of this study found that the form of activities of farmer groups in mangrove conservation efforts are planting, forest patrols, plant insertion, and hammer pond activities.
