The efficiency of water distribution is measured as the ratio of the amount of water delivered to the rice fields to the amount of water taken from the river, expressed as a percentage. This efficiency can be calculated by multiplying the efficiencies in the primary, secondary, and tertiary channels. Factors such as seepage, percolation, and evaporation influence the efficiency of water distribution. Based on research conducted in the Panca Arga irrigation area in Asahan Regency, the water distribution efficiency was recorded at 52.65%. The details are as follows: primary channel efficiency at 82.30%, secondary channel efficiency at 82.30%, and tertiary channel efficiency at 77.66%. Water loss due to seepage was recorded at 0.0434 mm/day in the primary channel, 0.0298 mm/day in the secondary channel, and 0.0086 mm/day in the tertiary channel. Water loss due to percolation was 4.00 mm/day, and due to evaporation, it was 2.515 mm/day.
