Evaluasi Layanan Mobil Perpustakaan Keliling pada Dinas Perpustakaan dan Arsip Kabupaten Karo

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the Mobile Library Service at the Library and Archive Department of Karo District. The method used in this study was qualitative with a descriptive approach. The informants in the study were five people: four from the service section and one the driver of the Mobile Library. Data collection techniques used were observation, interview, and documentation. The results showed that the Karo District Mobile Library Service was based on the Guidelines for Implementing Mobile Library in 2013 by the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia, which has four indicators. First, the types of services available at the Karo District Mobile Library consist of reference service, reading service, drawing service, and storytelling. Second, the Karo District Mobile Library service programs, namely mobile library promotion and on-site reading service. During visits, these activities were carried out at schools, community reading parks, and village halls. Third, the type of vehicle used was a four-wheeled vehicle (car), and there were five Mobile Library cars with some equipments. Fourth, the type of service statistics owned by the Mobile Library Karo District, namely statistics of Mobile Library visitors and statistics on the number of points visited by Mobile Library Cars in 2023. Around 90-95 locations were visited per month.
