This study aims to determine the denotative and connotative meaning of the film “ Cry Me A Sad River “. This study used a qualitative research method with a semiotic analysis research approach to Roland Barthes study. In this study, researches used several relevant theories, namely films, representation, and Roland Barthes semiotics. Data collection techniques are carried out using literature and non-participant observation. The results of this study indicate that the discovery of 12 pictures of denotation and connotation shows that the audience is invited to understand each event experienced by each character with different characters. The moral message in this film is that bullying occurs because people believe in news too much without evidence and this can have psychological effects on the victim in the future.
