Abstract

This research discusses the comparison of the wedding ceremony of the Toba Batak tribe in Torsimincak with the Hokkien tribe in Medan. This research uses cross cultural comparative theory to discuss how the wedding ceremony of the Toba Batak tribe in Torsi mincak and the Hokkien tribe in Medan. Researchers use comparative theory to analyze the similarities and differences in the marriage ceremony of the Toba Batak tribe and the Hokkien tribe. The research method used by researchers is a qualitative method. T he results obtained from this study are that there are some similarities and differences between the Toba Batak tribe and the Hokkien tribe in carrying out the wedding ceremony starting from the proposal stage, when the wedding takes place and when the wedding has been completed.
