Abstract

This research discusses the directive speech acts in the book القراءة الرشيدة /al-Qirā'atu al-Rasyīdatu /juz 1 and 2. The purpose of this study is to describe the forms and types of directive speech acts in the book القراءة الرشيدة /al-Qirā'atu al- Rasyīdatu/ Juz 1 and 2. The data source in this research is the Book of القراءة الرشيدة /Al-Qirā'atu Al-Rasyīdatu/ Juz 1 and 2 and the research data is in the form of sentences containing directive speech acts. This research is library research using descriptive analysis. Data was collected using the listen and note method. Data were analyzed using the translational method. This research uses theories related to directive speech acts proposed by Bach and Harnish. The results obtained include the following: First, the forms of directive speech acts contained in the Book of القراءة الرشيدة /Al-Qirā'atu Al-Rasyīdatu/ Juz 1 and 2 are direct and indirect speech acts. Second, the types of speech acts contained in the Book of القراءة الرشيدة /Al-Qirā'atu Al-Rasyīdatu/ Juz 1 and 2 are requestives, questions, requirements, permissives and advisories. The conclusion of this research is prohibitive speech act type was not found in the Book of القراءة الرشيدة /Al-Qirā'atu Al-Rasyīdatu/ Juz 1 and 2.
