dc.description.abstract | Mangrove forests in Langkat Regency are damaged and depleted due to illegal encroachment and diversion of functions, including mangrove community forests covering an area of 410 ha which were granted a utilization business license to the Farmers and Fisherman Group (KTN) Lestari Mangrove. This study aims to analyze the species composition, mangrove community structure and mangrove health level and to analyze the perception of KTN Lestari Mangrove on mangrove damage in Lubuk Kertang Village. The line transect method and sample plots were used to test comparisons of species composition, community structure and mangrove health and interviews with questionnaires to respondents to analyze perceptions. The results showed that the composition of mangrove vegetation types in undisturbed mangrove conditions had 7 mangrove species and in disturbed mangrove conditions there were 6 species. Vegetation that dominates at the seedling, sapling and tree level is the type of Rhizophora mucronata, with the level of mangrove health in undisturbed mangrove conditions in the moderate category and mangrove conditions that experience disturbances in the poor category. The results of the Mann Whitney test for the level of mangrove health of 0.000 show that there is a significant difference, where the value of Asymp.Sig. (2-tailed) < 0.05, then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. The perception of the Lestari Mangrove Farmers and Fisherman Group regarding mangrove damage shows that the group understands mangrove damage very well, including causes such as illegal encroachment, as well as the reduction in marine biota which is the impact of mangrove damage. | en_US |
