Pemahaman Remaja Terhadap Leksikon Pengobatan Tradisional Batak Simalungun Kajian Ekolinguistik

Abstract

Traditional medicine is a cultural heritage passed down from generation to generation. Simalungun Batak is very famous for its traditional medicine. The Purba Hinalang area has many medicinal plants which are processed into ingredients in traditional medicine by the Parbat and the surrounding community. Technological developments have had a big impact, especially in the health sector, which is more modern and most people do not use traditional medicine, especially the millennial generation. This research aims to determine the interrelation, interaction and interdependence of the benefits of traditional medicine from the Simalungun Batak community on the linguistic ecolexicon and understanding of the youth community, especially teenagers, in their introduction to traditional medicine. This research uses an ecolinguistic theory approach in three ecolinguistic parameters, interrelation, interaction and interdependence. In this research, the approach used is qualitative, supported by a quantitative number of respondents. The methods used in collecting data are the listening method and the skill method. The results of the research carried out were obtained from seven traditional treatments and 42 medicinal plant lexicons. In this study, the level of understanding among teenagers reached 60.4%, which shows that the percentage of teenagers' understanding reached half and was classified as understanding.
