    Abstract
The inner conflict that occurs in the character Dara is what made researchers interested in choosing this novel. The aim of this research is to describe the inner conflict experienced by the character Dara in the novel The Devil in Black Jeans. This type of research is research that uses descriptive methods with a qualitative research type. Inner conflict is a problem that occurs within a character, where the character experiences a problem and tries to solve the problem himself. The inner conflict experienced by Dara was studied using Kurt Lewin's inner conflict theory, where inner conflict was studied using type I, II and III conflicts. Type I conflict is a conflict that occurs because someone is faced with two choices, type I conflict consists of approach-approach conflict, avoidance-avoidance conflict, and approach-avoidance conflict. Type II conflict is a conflict that occurs because there is pressure that is so strong that the character can only obey the pressure. Type III conflict is a conflict that occurs within a character which can result in anger or outbursts of emotion in the character, giving rise to rebellion. This conflict is studied using Literary Psychology studies. Literary psychology is a study that examines the psychology of a character in a literary work.
