dc.description.abstract | This research reveals how love is constructed and interpreted in the novel, as well as its influence on the characters' behavior and emotions. Love, a complex and mysterious human emotion, has long been a central theme in various literary works, including novels. The concept of love is defined as a feeling that involves intimacy, passion, and commitment. From the interpretation of the components of love, a concept is produced which is called types of love. The purpose of this research is to explain the components of love and types of love. The method used in this research is a qualitative method. The theory used in this research is Literary Psychology, which refers to Robert J. Sternberg's Psychology of Love. To collect data, reading and note-taking techniques were used, and data analysis used descriptive analysis methods. The research results show that the characters in the Novel "Segi Tiga" by Sapardi Djoko Damono have components of intimacy, desire, and decision/commitment. The combination of these three components can produce three types of love found in the three relationships that have been studied. Types of love include liking, romantic love, and true love, as described in Robert J. Sternberg's book. | en_US |
