| dc.description.abstract | This study aims to analyze the management of static archives at the South Tapanuli Regency Library and Archives Office. This study was descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The determination of informants in this study used a purposive sampling technique. The informants in this study were four people consisting of one Head of the Archives Management and three archivists. Data collection techniques used in this research were observation, interview, and documentation. Data analysis techniques included data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results of this study indicated that static archive management at the Regional Library and Archives Office of South Tapanuli Regency had followed the applicable procedures or regulations but was still not optimal, especially in the processing stage and aspects of archival facilities and infrastructure, care, and safety of archives. The obstacles faced by the South Tapanuli Regency Regional Library and Archives Office were the mixing of static archives with other types of archives submitted by Regional Apparatus Organizations and local sub-districts to the South Tapanuli Regency Regional Library and Archives Office, the lack of static archive retrieval facilities, namely archive search lists, archive inventories, static archive guides, and the existence of static archive destroying factors at the South Tapanuli Regency Regional Library and Archives Office, namely human factors. This study concluded that the management of static archives at the Regional Library and Archives Office of South Tapanuli Regency has not been carried out optimally in accordance with Law Number 43 of 2009 concerning Archives, especially at the processing stage, namely the absence of static archive retrieval tools such as archive search lists, archive inventories, and static archive guides due to the lack of competent Human Resources (HR) in their fields and inadequate facilities. | en_US |
