dc.description.abstract | The rapid development of information technology necessitates libraries to create unique innovations in order to meet the needs and comfort of users and increase public reading interest. Therefore, the presence of a library wrapped in a cafe nuance can create a new library image by providing books as well as an attractive place to relax for the community. To balance the activities in the library and the cafe in one building involves a concept design namely Biophilic design. Biophilic design is based on the concept of biophilia that aims to produce a space that can improve the welfare of human life mentally and physically. This research uses three categories of Biophilic Design, namely nature in space, analogies of nature, and nature of space, and seven parameters of design patterns, namely visual connection with nature, non-visual connection with nature, variations in heat & air changes, dynamic light propagation, biomorphic shapes and patterns, natural materials, prospects. This research uses qualitative methods with a descriptive approach. The analysis is conducted in two locations namely Socrates Vegan Cafe and Baca Cafe. The speakers of this study consisted of cafe owners, cafe Staff and visitors of Socrates Vegan Cafe and Baca Cafe. The research results indicate that two different activities can run smoothly in one room when connecting humans with the atmosphere of nature. This can be seen through the presence of plants, natural objects, natural materials in Socrates Vegan Cafe and Baca Cafe. The research concludes that is the application of Biophilic Design in the library cafe have a positive impact on visitors, by presenting the shape, pattern, as well as integrating aroma and sound of nature in the room. | en_US |
