dc.description.abstractEnglish expressions are words, phrases, or clauses that social media users in Indonesia frequently use. More people can use English expressions because of advances in technology and communication that make information dissemination easier and faster. This research aims to find types of word formation English expressions frequently used by social media X users in Indonesia and describe how English expressions frequently used by social media X users in Indonesia are interpreted. The approach used in this research is the Morpho-Semantic approach, with word of formation processes theory by Bauer and Semantic theory by leech as a reference for analysis. The research method used was qualitative method. The techniques of data collection used are reading and documentation study by capturing the screen from X's social media accounts @tanyakanrl and @convomfs. Meanwhile the data analysis design model applied was descriptive qualitative the findings of the research show that, 35 English expressions are used by social media X users in Indonesia. The expressions that are frequently used are red flag, flexing, manifesting, clingy, toxic, spill, salty, denial, ilfeel, love language, crush, privilege, backstreet, fomo, staycation, pov, healing, slay, pick me, circle, thrift, moodyan, nolep, cosplay, bromance, sleep call, deeptalk, green flag, self-reward, backingan, booming, and ghosting. These expressions experience the formation process, including 9 compoundings, 10 affixations, 7 conversions, 4 blending, and 3 acronyms. Further, from the analysis of the use of English expressions in social media “X” were found 1 reflected meaning, 2 affective meaning, 1 collocative meaning, 1 social meaning, 28 connotative meaning.en_US
