Translation of culture-specific terms (CSTs) on the official website of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of Indonesia is crucial for effectively communicating Indonesia's diverse cultural heritage to international audiences. This study explored the categorization and translation methods of CSTs found in tradition-related texts on the website. The research employed qualitative descriptive methods, applying Newmark's cultural categories and Kwieciński's translation strategies. Based on the analysis, 145 CSTs were found in the Indonesian articles, but three of them did not have the translation in the English version. Referring to the categorization of CST, material culture positioned the highest, 94 words (65%), while gestures and habits became the lowest, 2 words (3%). In terms of translation method, the exoticization group was mostly used, accounting for 115 words (79%), followed simultaneously by explanation, 19 words (13%), and assimilation 11 words (8%).en_US
