dc.description.abstract | PT Starindo Prima is a manufacturing company engaged in the wooden furniture industry. The problem faced by the company is that there is waste such as excessive process activities (overprocessing) and waiting time (waiting time) that is too large in its production activities so that it can affect production speed and operating costs used by the company. The aim of this research is to identify and eliminate non-value added activities in production activities using the Lean Manufacturing and Value Stream Mapping methods as well as providing suggestions for improvements using the Fault Tree Analysis method. Based on the results of observations and measurements at PT. Starindo Prima has 26 activities with non value added time of 27,46 minutes, manufacturing lead time of 204,07 minutes, process cycle efficiency level of 77,68 % and process velocity of 0.0492 processes/hour. Then, elimination of 2 non-value added activities was carried out and improvement results were obtained by reducing activities to 24 activities, non-value added time to 7,07 minutes, manufacturing lead time to 183,68 minutes, process cycle efficiency increased to 86,30 % and process velocity decreased to 0.0454 processes/hour. After improvements were made, there was an increase in the number of production per month from 2,650 pieces/month to 2.914 pieces/month. Based on the results of the analysis using Fault Tree Analysis, suggestions for improvement that can be given are carrying out routine supervision of operators, replacing simple equipment with more efficient machines and creating routine maintenance and cleaning schedules, creating and establishing work procedures. | en_US |
