Abstract

The study was conducted with the aim of explaining the translation techniques used in translating 10 Chinese medicinal products and translating them into English. The techniques used are 18 types of translation techniques proposed by Molina and Albir. The research method in this study is descriptive qualitative to analyze research data in the form of words, phrases, clauses, and sentences contained in the translation. The data were collected using the literature study method, the data that has been obtained will be grouped and processed using the Pleco dictionary, Oxford leaner’s dictionaries and the Google Translate website. Based on the data analysis that has been carried out, the results of the study show that there are five types of translation techniques, including compensation techniques with fifteen data, common equivalent techniques with twelve data, reduction techniques with ten data, amplification techniques with ten data and linguistic amplification techniques with one data.
