dc.description.abstract | This research aims to find out the models of the feminist stylistics used to represent gender inequality in the novel, to explain how the feminist stylistics portray gender inequality in the novel, and to explain the reason why gender inequality is presented in this novel. This research used descriptive qualitative method proposed by Miles Huberman and also employed the theory proposed by Sara Mills. The data of this research was the words, phrases/ sentences, and discourse found in the text of the novel. The source of data for this study is the text from Rebecca Solnit's novel Men Explain There Things To Me. The data was collected through documentary technique and the models used in this research id Feminist Stylistics model. The finding of this study show there were 3 models of feminist stylistic found in the novel. There were 5 types of word level and there were the generic nouns, generic pronouns, women as the marked form, naming, and androcentrism. At the phrase/sentence level, there were 4 types of phrase/sentence level, there were transitivity choices, metaphors, jokes, and humor, At the discourse level, there were 3 types of discourse level, there were characters, fragmentation, and focalization. It can be concluded that the used of feminist stylistics models have an important role to provided a deep understanding to analysis novel about gender inequality and . It helps the reader to capture the idea by knowing the implicit meaning of each sentence in the text to understand the message of each sentence contained in the novel. | en_US |
