dc.description.abstract | Electronic devices are the main supporting equipment in everyday life. Based on the results of observations of MSMEs repairing electronic equipment, it was found that in Medan Sunggal sub-district, rice cookers are electronic devices that often experience damage. The problem with rice cookers is damage to the heating part and the lid hook. Based on the problems in the product, a rice cooker product improvement design is needed using the Quality Functional Deployment Phase I and Phase II methods to produce technical characteristics, and priority critical parts and Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ) to produce a general solution. The priority technical characteristics obtained through QFD Phase I are the ease of use of the rice cooker. Prioritized critical parts were obtained through QFD Phase II, namely the lid. The results of the design improvement of the contradiction between critical parts with TRIZ, namely the lid and the outside, resulted in a contradiction matrix solution in the form of mechanics substitution. The proposed product design based on the results of each method is to add a handle to the pan and a magnet to the lid of the rice cooker. | en_US |
