This study aims to determine the response of growth and production of corn (Zea mays L.) to the application of oil palm empty fruit bunch compost and NPK fertilizer. This research was conducted in Sidirejo Village, Namorambe District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra. This location is located at coordinates 3°29'27''N 98°39'45''E with an altitude of ± 60 meters above sea level from January to May 2024. This study used a randomized complete block design (RCBD) method with 2 treatment factors and 3 replications. The first factor is 4 levels of compost dosage of oil palm empty fruit bunches, namely: 0, 100, 200, 300 tons/ha. The second factor is 3 levels of NPK fertilizer doses, namely: 0, 200, 300 kg/ha. The results showed that the application of oil palm empty fruit bunch compost had a significant effect on the parameters of plant height at 2-7 weeks after planting, stem diameter, leaf area, crown fresh weight, root fresh weight, crown dry weight, root dry weight, cob length without clobber, cob diameter without clobber, cob weight per sample, cob weight per plot, seed weight per sample, seed weight per plot, and 1000 seed weight. The highest seed weight per sample and seed weight per plot were found at the 30 tons/ha level of oil palm empty fruit bunch compost which was not significantly different from the 20 tons/ha level of oil palm empty fruit bunch compost. The application of NPK fertilizer has a significant effect on the parameters of plant height at 2-7 weeks of planting age, stem diameter, leaf area, crown fresh weight, root fresh weight, crown dry weight, root dry weight, cob length without clobber, cob diameter without clobber, cob weight per sample, cob weight per plot, seed weight per sample, seed weight per plot, and 1000 seed weight. Seed weight per sample and seed weight per plot were highest at the 300 kg/ha level of NPK fertilizer. The interaction between various doses of oil palm empty fruit bunch compost and NPK fertilizer doses had a significant effect on the parameters of root fresh weight, root dry weight, seed weight per sample and seed weight per plot.en_US
