Parking is one of the needs of residents who have a vehicle when visiting a place. The absence of parking arrangements results in obstruction of traffic flow and road users become ineffective. Gambir Tembung Market is one of the centers of community trading activities in Percut Sei Tuan sub-district, Deli Serdang Regency. This market is located at the intersection of Jalan Tembung (Medan – Batang Kuis), Jalan Pasar VII (Tujuh) and Jalan Pasar Gambir VIII (Elapan) which is the main access for the people of Deli Serdang to Medan City. The lack of available parking locations results in parking activities on the side of the road. If this happens continuously it will reduce road capacity and cause congestion on the road. This research attempts to predict the need for parking space to control traffic flow at Gambir Tembung Market using various types of regression models, both linear regression (simple linear regression and multiple linear regression) and nonlinear regression (logarithmic, inverse, power and exponential). Furthermore, this research considers elements that can influence parking space requirements such as market area, kiosk area, number of kiosks, number of visitors and number of traders. This research also identifies alternative market development models to accommodate market activities and parking needs. From the results of the analysis of the parking space requirement model, the parking area required by motorists when carrying out activities at Gambir Tembung Market is 2608,001 m2. The parking space demand model that best represents the parking accumulation of Gambir Tembung Market is a regression model of the strength of the Market Area variable (X1) with the equation Y=35.673+0.368X1 and an R-square value of 0.770. This value can be interpreted as meaning that parking demand is influenced 77.00% by the market area variable through the power regression model. Furthermore, from the results of the analysis of the variables for parking space requirements, namely potential land area and number of kiosks/sellers, it is also necessary to redesign the market with a type C People's Market prototype model with a minimum requirement of 200 traders. and a minimum land area of 3000 m2.en_US
