Kajian Pengaruh Struktur Ruang terhadap Pengembangan Destinasi Wisata di Kecamatan Berastagi, Kabupaten Karo

Abstract

The spatial structure of a city plays an important role in the development of tourist destinations in a city. This determines the accessibility, connectivity and attractiveness of each area of the city for tourists. Berastagi District is one of the sub-districts in Karo Regency which is known for its tourism because it has various tourist attractions. Berastagi District is known for its natural and artificial tourist attractions which make it a favorite tourist destination in Karo Regency. The phenomenon found in the field is the very high demand for tourist visits to Berastagi, however the accessibility conditions have not been able to keep up with the high demand for visits because there are accessibility problems such as traffic jams which cause travel times to increase by up to 2 times, especially on national holidays. This research aims to analyze the influence of spatial structure, especially in terms of accessibility, on the development of tourist destinations in Berastagi District. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection through direct observation in the field, distributing questionnaires and interviews. The research results show that based on visitors' perceptions, the influence of spatial structure on the development of tourist destinations in Berastagi District already has a good score in the High category with a percentage of 78.74%.
