dc.description.abstract | The research in this thesis aims to (1) Explain the form of Bordah art at Malay wedding ceremonies in Gunting Saga Village, North Labuhanbatu Regency. (2) Explain the factors causing the shift in the meaning of Bordah music in wedding ceremonies. (3) Explain the public's perception of changes in the form of Bordah performances in Gunting Saga Village. The method used in this research is a qualitative method. This research describes the phenomenon of the shift in the meaning of Bordah music in the Gunting Saga Malay community. Research starts from facts that are collected, classified, interpreted and analyzed inductively-qualitatively. The results of this research are (1) The Gunting Saga Malay community generally only performs the art of Bordah music only one day, namely from morning to noon. The musical instruments used to accompany Bordah art are the Malay drum and violin. The Bordah poetry that is sung is poetry About Longing, poetry Warning of the dangers of lust, verse Praise to Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him, poetry Tawassul To Prophet Muhammad saw and poetry of Munjat and Delivery of Wishes to Prophet Muhammad saw. (2) The factors causing the shift in the meaning of Bordah art in Gunting Saga Village are: (a) The addition of violin instruments to Bordah music performances (b) The reduction in Bordah music players in Gunting Saga subdistrict. (c) Reducing the order of presentation of Bordah musical arts performances (d) Reducing the length of Bordah musical arts performances at wedding ceremonies with the aim of saving costs. (3) The community's perception of the Bordah performance in Gunting Saga Village, North Labuhanbatu Regency, namely (a) Older people still find the Bordah musical arts performance very interesting to watch. Old people really hope that young people can learn Bordah art and preserve it. (b) Young people today are less interested in the art of Bordah music. Young people are more interested in keyboard music performances and band music or other modern music performances. Young people are not interested in learning to play Bordah musical instruments. (c) Performers of the Bordah musical arts who are still active still wish to preserve the Bordah musical arts in Gunting Saga so that they do not become extinct. One form of effort by artists to preserve Bordah art is by adding violin instruments to Bordah music performances during wedding ceremonies. | en_US |
