Interaksi Sosial Kru Mahasiswa dalam Kegiatan Broadcasting USU TV
Social Interaction of Student Crew in USU TV Broadcasting Activities
Abstract
This thesis carries the title "Capacity Building of USU Students as Broadcasting Media Crew (Study on USU TV)". This research aims to explain that social interaction and the use of symbols influence students' construction of reality in USU TV broadcasting activities. The research method used was a qualitative approach involving 10 main informants and 3 additional informants determined using a purposive sampling technique. This research uses symbolic interaction theory developed by Herbert Blumer as a theoretical framework. Findings indicate that Symbolic Interactionism is utilized to understand how symbols used by USU TV contribute to shaping perceptions of campus identity through social interaction. USU TV not only presents diverse and relevant content but also fosters collective identity and shared meanings among staff and students, underscoring the importance of symbols in the social processes that shape social identity and shared values within the academic community.
