This research analyses cognitive affective, and conative responses from woman as the managers of MUI (Indonesian Ulama Council) of North Sumatera toward a documentary video, "Polemik Poligami di Indonesia: Berbagi Surga" in YouTube Channel Vice Indonesia. By using constructivism paradigm approach and receptive study method, this research involves non-participative observation and in-depth interview. There are 6 (six) informants and 1 (one) triangulation informant, all information received yields saturated data. Based on the theory of interpersonal communication, perception, cognitive dissonance, new media, and social construction of mass media, the result of the research shows that the informants negotiate the content of that movie cohesively and affectively. Even though they recognize the legitimacy of polygamy, connotatively they refuse to get involved in polygamy marriage. Besides that, the majority of women in charge of MUI of North Sumatera feel concern about that movie; they think that it can create negative stereotype and position of polygamy as an ambiguous law in Islam which cause its practice is not relevant anymore.
