dc.description.abstract | Advances in technology and information are currently very rapid which can make it easier for people to exchange information. In addition to these conveniences, the development of Information Technology also has a negative impact because it can trigger the emergence of new crimes and one of them is the increasingly widespread criminal acts that violate decency. The problem formulation in this thesis research is how to investigate the criminal act of spreading immoral content through electronic media by the Sub Director Cyber Polda North Sumatra, what are the efforts to disclose cases of spreading immoral content through electronic media by cyber sub-director V of North Sumatra Police, what are the obstacles to the Cyber Sub-Directorate of North Sumatra Police in handling the criminal act of spreading immoral content through electronic media
The research used was normative juridical research methods supported by empirical data, namely conducting interviews with the Head of Sub-Directorate V Cyber of the Directorate of Special Criminal Research (Ditreskrimsus) of the North Sumatra Regional Police and investigators of Sub-Director V Cyber of the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) of the North Sumatra Regional Police. The data obtained were analyzed using qualitative methods.
The results of the study show that the investigation into the criminal act of spreading immoral content through electronic media by the cyber sub-directorate of the North Sumatra Regional Police was first investigated when there were public complaints and forwarded to a police report. The investigation was carried out in order to find out whether there was a criminal act in the report and after the investigation process found a criminal act, an investigation was carried out to collect evidence that is useful to make clear about the crime that occurred and to find the suspect. After the case dossier is complete, then the next step, the file is transferred to the Public Prosecutor to prosecute the suspect. Disclosure of cases of spreading immoral content through electronic media by cyber sub-Directorate V of the North Sumatra Police is by conducting cyber patrols. Obstacles to the cyber sub-directorate of the North Sumatra Regional Police in handling the criminal act of spreading immoral content through electronic media are that the regional police stations have both equipment and human resources, both in quantity and quality, and have a high level of anonymity. | en_US |
