dc.description.abstract | Phthalic anhydride is an organic compound with the formula C8H4O3 which is a
colorless solid. phthalic anhydride is used as a manufacturing material for
plasticizers, polyester resins, and alkyd resins. The modern commercial process for
the production of phthalic anhydride is based on the gas-phase oxidation of o-xylene
with air over a V2O5 catalyst. The pre-designed phthalic anhydride plant is planned
to have a production capacity of 40,800 tons/year and operate for 330 days a year.
The pre-designed factory is planned to be built in Kwala Indah Village, Sei Suka
District, Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra. The required factory land area is
21,980 m2. The planned form of business entity is a Limited Liability Company
(PT) with a line and staff organizational structure.
The results of the economic analysis of the pre-design of the phthalic anhydride
plant are:
Total Investment Capital : Rp. 1.120.880.856.799
Total Production Costs : Rp. 948.461.907.550
Sales Proceeds : Rp. 1.394.149.407.762
Net Profit : Rp. 296.437.187.641
Profit Margin (PM) : 31,96 %
Break Even Point (BEP) : 25,08 %
Return On Investment (ROI): 26,44 %
Pay Out Time (POT) : 3,7 years
Return On Network (RON) : 44,07 %
Internal Rate of Return (IRR): 33,09 %.
From the results of the economic analysis above, it can be concluded that the predesigned
